Help:Country pages
This page documents an aspect of the wiki. This page is about the wiki itself (e.g. policies, guidelines, general information). |
This page is a stub! This page is incomplete! You can help out by expanding it. |
Country pages are pages focused on a country; that is, an entity represented in-game by a tag (e.g. GER for Germany). Country pages should give an overview of the verifiable information for that country, relevant to the page type.
Country pages, like most pages, will have a primary page (focused on gameplay), alongside two subpages (focused on lore and meta information). Each has its own specific content and rules, which will be explained below.
As of right now, this page is a work in progress, so if any further help is needed, refer to the already existing country pages for guidance, or feel free to ask an admin for help.
Primary page - Gameplay[edit source]
A country's primary page will focus on what role that country serves in-game. They should be written in a user-friendly manner, with the goal of assisting a player in understanding how the country works from a gameplay standpoint. The following headers may be included:
- History (summary, covering key events leading up to start-date)
- Geography (summary, focusing on key VPs, rivers, mountains, etc.)
- National focus
- Technology
- Politics
- Economy and industry
- Military
- Diplomacy
- Mechanics
- Strategy guides
Subpage - Lore[edit source]
A country's lore subpage should detail everything known about that country from an in-universe point of view, up-to the start date (e.g. 1936 for vanilla HOI4). The following topics may be covered:
- Etymology (what the country has its name)
- History
- Geography
- Government and politics
- Economy
- Demographics
- Culture
Make sure to only cover topics that are covered either in-game or in official sources outside of the mod (so long as they are consistent with in-game sources).
